Offers In-Office or Telehealth appointments!

Hi, I’m Dr. Michele Beck, PhD, a license-eligible Clinical Psychologist. I believe therapy works best when it is personalized, collaborative, and grounded in safety and trust. I utilize an integrative, mixed-methods approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy, allowing us to create a treatment plan that truly fits you.

Empowerment is the core of my therapeutic philosophy. I strive to empower my clients to recognize their inherent worth and embrace their unique identities. I place a strong emphasis on the importance of setting healthy boundaries. Together, we can explore strategies for establishing clear boundaries in interpersonal relationships, work environments, and daily encounters. By honoring one’s limits and communicating assertively, my clients will discover how to protect their emotional and physical peace while creating more fulfilling connections with others and themselves. I believe that self-love is not a luxury, rather a fundamental necessity for overall well-being. By prioritizing self-compassion, mindfulness practices, and fulfilling pursuits, individuals can maintain and strengthen their quality of life even in the midst of life challenges.

I am dedicated to helping my clients navigate their mental health challenges and achieve lasting positive change. Through a combination of evidence-based practices, personalized treatment plans, and ongoing support, I strive to empower my clients to lead peaceful and fulfilling lives. This is achieved through empowerment, boundary-setting, self-love, and guidance as each client completes their journey towards healing, growth, and self-discovery.

My education, professions, and life experiences have provided me with a deep understanding of psychological theories, research methodologies, and clinical interventions. With decades of experience working in various settings, including private practice, community mental health centers, social services, as well as serving our country during Operation Iraqi Freedom, I have been able to cultivate my skills and fine tune my expertise.

I maintain active memberships in professional organizations such as the American Psychological Association (APA), Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists, Virginia Association for Psychological Science, Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology, Alpha Beta Kappa Honor Society, SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society, and Golden Key National Honor Society. These affiliations provide me with opportunities for continued learning, networking with colleagues, and staying informed about best practices in the field.

I am so glad you found me, and I can’t wait to meet you!
